This is a rather delightful quite rare early 1930s Tri-ang Princess Dolls House, in a good well played with condition. This is one of the more unusual models as it is back opening.

Interior Tri-ang Princess Dolls House

The frontage is quite pretty, and the exterior including the roof is in original condition, as far as we know apart from the top of each of the bays that would probably have been painted a blue/grey colour. As an experiment I have scratched a tiny fragment of paint on one of the flat roofs and sure enough the original colour is remaining underneath, so if so desired, whoever purchases this can embark on some renovation. We are not sure if the doors have been overpainted or not, or whether on these models they were cream/white anyway. Certainly on later models the doors were blue/grey colour.

Bathroom Tri-ang Princess Dolls HouseBathroom

The bathroom has original flooring tiled paper but extremely worn and patchy plus there is a clean patch where the bath would have stood. You can just see a tiny remnant of the floral paper left on the wall.

Kitchen Tri-ang Princess Dolls HouseKitchen

The kitchen has some remnants of original wallpaper and the flooring paper is still there, albeit grubby plus there appears to be a water stain near the window. The internal kitchen door is missing but the back door remains. There is the old wooden dresser which is loose.

Hall Landing Tri-ang Princess Dolls HouseHall & Landing

The hall and landing are in original condition with original stairs, bannisters and flooring. The front door has its acetate still there although a bit worn plus the metal letterbox, but the door knocker is missing.

Top Front Of G&J Lines Dolls HouseBedroom & Lounge

The bedroom has been repapered but a long while ago and is actually quite pretty, plus this room still has its original flooring paper and fixed fireplace. The lounge has lost almost all of its wallpaper, but some remnants are left on the wall. Sadly none of the flooring paper could be salvaged. There is a second loose fireplace, which is in a worn condition.

Triangtois Metal LabelEarly 1930s Triangtois Metal Label

The metal Triangtois metal label still exists on the rear of the roof.

Tri-ang Dolls House Window

Central Window Frame Painted Replacement But Original Windows

The central window frame has been replaced by a later version of a Tri-ang frame which has been painted white, however the two windows have been re-fixed although dont open. All other windows with curtains remain.

Tri-ang Roof Compartment Battery

Battery Compartment With Lift Up Section On Roof. Old Wiring.

On the rear of the room there is a little compartment with a lift up lid that would have housed the batteries for lighting. Some of the original wiring exists but the whole lot will need re-doing. The original light fittings exist in each room plus there is a metal switch situated on the right exterior wall.

The rear back doors close with a hook and eye but may need a little attention if you want them to close perfectly flush. I personally would leave them as they are but would be personal choice.

NB. As with all of our old dolls houses, this has been checked for woodworm. I found four holes on the front roof only which may well have been nail holes. However as a precaution, as we always do with these old houses, the suspect holes have been treated.

Approx measurements: 23"high x 30"wide x 18"deep

The ceilings are 7 " in height downstairs, 6" upstairs and in my opinion this house would suit either 1/12th or 1/16th furniture.

A lovely old house which could be left in this condition or a wonderful project for someone to embark on to renovate with antique wallpaper.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR COLLECTION IN PERSON ONLY, IS TOO HEAVY & FRAGILE TO POST.
