Collection 5

Joyce Farmery

From Anglesey, North Wales

Joyce kindly sent in many photos of her extensive collection. I have sifted through and chosen a few very different pieces to the previous collections as seen on here.

KT Miniatures would like to thank Joyce for her time and patience in photographing her collection. Several of her houses are not quite so old but I think the ones you will see below you will find interesting as they mostly appear to be all hand-made plus an assortment of old pieces of furniture

The text is more or less in Joyce's own words.

A Very Small Long House

This was bought locally about 3 years ago. It measures 20" long, 8" deep and just 9" to the eaves. It has lovely old windows & door plus some windows to the rear. I would like to think that the wallpaper is genuinely old. There is lino on the floor.

Some of the furniture is very tiny scale (believed to be Blue Box).

Old House

This is a hand made house, bought 2 years ago. The top & bottom frontage opens us separately by sliding. The bathroom & kitchen fittings are fixed. It is now fully furnished with Lundby (sorry no photo of these).

The exact age or origin is unknown but that wallpaper is interesting!

Antique Shop

This shop is new but filled with all sorts of old pieces. In fact all unusual pieces are placed in the shop until an appropriate housing is found for them!

Assortment Of Old Furniture-Photo 1

The art deco three piece suite I purchased 2 years ago from an antique shop here on Anglesey (sadly now closed). This and the other pieces, old wooden furniture and dolls are in my own "Antique Shop".

Assortment Of Old Furniture-Photo 2

The small brass table & chairs (about 11/2" high) were purchased recently from Lincolnshire, believed to be old. The two brass chairs are actually commodes-hole under cushion.

The small Limoge table and chair were purchased in Spain about 27 years ago now. The other table and chairs are real craftsmen's work-sewing pins joined together with coloured thread, this was a recent local purchase-believed to be old.

The tea set is a Limoge design.

 Assortment Of Old Furniture-Photo 3

I bought these two beds in Cheshire. I found a photo of the metal bed in Constance Eileen King's book "Dolls & Dolls Houses". The carpenter made house it is featured in, was made in 1874, but what I would like to know is if the bed is as old as the house or was it added later? The maker of the wooden bed is unknown.

Does anyone know the answer to this for Joyce? If so, please let me know here at KT Miniatures then we can forward on any information to Joyce
