1950s Amersham Dolls House Door

Above the opening wooden door is a plaque with the name "Uplands". All the very distinct metal Amersham windows are intact and refresingly each lower window still opens. These windows are totally unique to these Amersham houses.

The original painted foilage still remains on the outside however as you can see the original paintwork is showing some wear and the narrow brick strip along the lower front has long gone but this is common as the paper used often became extremely brittle for some reason - maybe it was the paste that the company used or indeed the paper itself? Not sure.

There are three rooms inside; one downstairs room with staircase leading to upstairs main room then an archway leading into a tiny room above the garage. All wallpaper and flooring is believed to be original to the house.

1950s Amersham Dolls House Rear View

There is the one original bulb in the downstairs room with wiring leading out the back to the base where the battery would have been fixed.

The two opening wooden garage doors are still intact however the right door metal handle is long gone. The brick paper on the garage floor is original.

1950s Amersham Dolls House Label

Here is the distinctive Amersham logo which is painted/stencilled on.

The whole of the outside is in original painted played with condition, with some obvious wear and tear but this helps give this delightful house such character. The roof is in original condition although sadly the one chimney is long gone. You can see the round imprint and nail hole where the chimney would have been.

1950s Amersham Dolls House Roof

There is a tiny tear in the binding of the roof join but this is very minor.

Another extremely common fault with old dolls houses is the frontage can catch on opening & shutting which is the case on this little house. Although whoever buys this may wish to possibly sand top and lower edge of frontage a little to ease this if it becomes a problem?

There is absolutely no sign of woodworm or there ever having been, which is refreshing.

As always, you are advised if possible to collect in person from me here in Thame, at a mutually agreed time, to erase the possibility of any damage caused in transit as these old houses are quite fragile.

However this house is small enough to post by Parcelforce here in the UK if necessary.

Sorry but UK buyers only.
